What the science says

Vitamins are essential micronutrients that our body cannot synthesize and whose dietary intake is rarely adequate even in sedentary people. Vitamins are involved in four main types of functions: a hormonal type function (for example for vitamins A and D); a coenzyme and cofactor function (transfer of protons, electrons, groups); a membrane stabilization function (for example for vitamin E); an antioxidant function (for example for vitamin C, vitamin E).

  • Vitamin B3 (Niacin, niacinamide, nicotinamide). The body needs niacin for cells to grow and function properly.
  • Vitamin B5 (Pantothenic Acid): necessary for the production of energy and hormones.
  • Vitamin B6 (pyridoxine, pyridoxamine, pyridoxal): participates in the regulation of hormonal activity and strengthens mental functions. Necessary for the formation of red blood cells.

  • Vitamin D (D2: ergocalciferol; D3: cholecalciferol) necessary for bone mineralization.
  • Vitamin E: protects structures sensitive to oxidation such as lipids and nucleotide bases of DNA. Necessary for storing vitamin A.
